What do you mean by 'AutoStart'

Start Menu - All Programs - Startup.

Startup is a folder. Put anything in it, and it will run / open on login.

Accessing the System Configuration Utility

1. Click Start type msconfig in the search box and press Enter

Configure Selective Startup options

1. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
2. Uncheck Load Startup Items
3. Select the Services tab
4. Check  Hide all Microsoft services
5. Click  Disable all
6. Click on OK
7. Click  Restart.

After performing the necessary steps, restore your system by doing the following:

1. Click Start type msconfig in the search box and press Enter
2. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
3. Click Ok
4. Click Yes, when asked to restart your computer

Exactly what I need, Cube, thanks a lot. Had to disable some nasty stuff that ran on start-up, disabled their start on log-in and removed the associated files. Thanks a lot again, Cube.

The folder has been called Autostart for years now though.

Yes yes, the problem was that it was not in there but some hidden point in the registry. I knew that there was a Windows tool for managing AutoStart processes but I couldn't remember the command/name of the exe to search it.

Well, you never told us whether you wanted to add stuff or remove stuff, and since you had already resolved your issue I was more correcting Pacnet than trying to answer.
