I change my avatar frequently so I doubt anyone can remember me by my avatar ;-;

Depends if that person uses their avatar, or exceedingly similar ones, all the time.

And when someone does use an avatar for ages, and some other member starts using it or a very similar one, it confuses me.
Because sometimes I don't fully read the name of who is replying, if I know the avatar.

When I've visited the forums before on my phone, and avatars haven't appeared, while reading through comments I have absolutely no loving clue who is talking to who.

I just skip over the name and read the comment, and then get confused when I forget who is even talking anymore.
Makes it even more weirder when you come across an arument and insults going back and forth.

Surprise avatar fads are awkward too, when everyone suddenly has near-identical avatars.
Usually they're things splashed onto your current avatar, or people making clever twists, but there have been ones where they're just too similar to work out.
