I cant see shadows and i'm on medium!!

I turned them to high, low medium and still dont see them.  I'm thinking I might have to uninstall but im unsure.
Please help!

I looked at the terminal or the thing that looks like it and when i turn on shaders, it says this:
ERROR: renderVsm_prog shader compilation failed, disabling shaders
