This thread makes me laugh. I hope you realize that those "useless" gamemodes were added in to show off and give examples on the new feature.

The add-on choosing is terrible. Giant text, no sorting, not even a "select all" button.
A "Select All" button is either useless or stupid depending on whether you have the sense not to use it.

I have the feeling the menus have been update to be more kid-friendly.
The stuff that invaded the somehow once cool roblox is now invading blockland.

Holy. stuff.

I have to say....

You are right.

- Freebuild: Probably the most utterly useless gamemode ever made, if you want default everything, go ahead, but other than that Baddy is just trying to make people host useless servers filled with rubbish.

- Mansion Whatever: Kinda cool, its whatever, Baddy didn't need to waste his time with it.

- Pirate DM: Cool-ish, always fun to be a pirate but like all these gamemodes it doesn't promote building, which is what needs to be done.

1. Quit being a crybaby, lots of freebuild servers already existed and default bricks are fine.
2. + 3. It's called having fun. If Blockland was only about building nobody would play it.

You also forgot Rampage, which would probably fall under 2. + 3.

But the whole menu is kind of annoying. It does look a bit better, but enabling things is quite annoying and slow. I liked the categories where I could enable/disable an entire category. The Advanced section acts like you raise the brick limit, but you can't.

I agree with you on this, the whole "upgrade" is more of a "downgrade" and I'd rather have it back to the old way.

Piano Sounds

- The most important loss is the amazing menu piano sounds. For whatever reason they are no longer here for us to enjoy.

I miss these too.
Somebody needs to make a gui mod to revert the new gui back to the old.

I enjoy the update, but I do not like how the starting server text is so large, no select-all add-ons button, and the menu piano sounds are gone! That is by far the biggest lost. Also, filled with useless game-modes (do not like how they are called "game-modes") and soon the only thing you will see in the player list will be map: custom or some other new game-mode.

blockland: roblox that performs better.

making more user friendly UI's: now considered tacky

What I miss the most are the piano sounds :(

Not trying to pick on anyone, but some of the custom gamemodes. Some of them can be easily created with a basic minigame in a custom server, it doesn't need it's own gamemode. I can see more of these custom gamemodes being released in the future.

I see the gamemodes as a unique forced minigame that allows us to do something we usually couldn't. For instance Rampage mode, or Cog's Escape (non-default). These are unique and allow people to accomplish things easier and prevent certain things and experience your build or gamemode in the way it's supposed to be.

Cog's Escape could easily be done without game modes. Rampage probably couldn't. Although I don't think that's a bad thing.

I included Cog's Escape because the way gamemodes work is different. Normally people would just have to release their build challenge or whatever and explain what to do, what minigame settings to use, what Add-Ons to use etc.

Gamemodes allow this to be done easier, and force players to play a map the way it's meant to be played. There can be multiple levels and clear the bricks and load them. There are lots of things that can be done.

What I look down upon is the people that have, and the people that will - make gamemodes out of something that could easily be done with a basic minigame and doesn't deserve it's own gamemode.

Gamemodes are useful for hosts.
Want to change server type?
Before: Change addons, change welcome message, load, etc.. Everything is done manually.
After: Change gamemode. I can easily change from a TF2 type server to a terrain build server with the right preparations and a few clicks.

Cog's is just like that... But I still think that's a fine use of game modes.

so you actually believe that a server without addons is stuffty?

ill make sure to never visit your addon-spam fest of a server.
if a person could even join. people like you tend to have us download 500 new files every time we find a server like it.
