Author Topic: Badspot changed the Blockland Demo  (Read 3328 times)

It looks like Badspot changed some things in the demo. Demo users can longer use add-ons, the "Custom" gamemode (also known as maps) says that a registered key is required. Apparently, freebuild works and demo users no longer have the 150 brick limit, they can load any save they want. What's funny is that Demo users can't re-load any of their saves they were working on.

What do you guys think of this, opposed to the Brick Limit, and still support of add-ons?

I think removing the brick limit was good, because it will let people who want to maybe buy the game get a better feel at  playing blockland. I don't like how they can use as many add-ons as they want. How about an add-on limit?

its a much better demo. its hard to properly test out if you like blockland or not when you get a measly 150 bricks.

plus non owners have no business using addons anyway.

You would be surprised, I saw this one kid on YouTube who had the demo but a ton of weapons.

iirc you couldn't use add-ons in the demo before registering a key in that blockland install

Yes you could. Back in v8 when I had the demo all I did was play on GSF's maps to compensate for the brick limit, and use Space Guy's bot mod to play with.

You could use Add-Ons.

does the launcher check for default addon file sizes? because you could probably circumvent it by renaming the add-ons to default files and readonly-ing them

it must be exactly the same as an unmodified copy.

Guys stop expecting people who play the blockland demo to be able to do such stuff. The average demo player has 0 experience, might come from roblox and has 0 idea how all this works.

The way this happens is because of the new gamemode system. If badspot locks people out of custom mode, they can put as many add-ons as they want into the blockland folder but they will never be loaded unless the demo user knows how to script
