Author Topic: Lego storage?  (Read 989 times)

So, if you want to know why I'm playing with Legos, I've recently wanted to get back into them, considering I have so many, and I need something to keep me occupied while I'm saving up money for a better computer.

Now, I've wanted to get something to store them in, something to organize them, and I was looking at -this-, but then I noticed -this-. "What's the problem?" You may ask, and the problem is that it's too small for all the bricks I have. Even if I got two of them, that would be way too much money to spend on something like that - 45.95 each, meaning I would be spending about 92 dollars on drawers. No way.

tl;dr I need something to organize my LEGOs.

just chuck them all into a bin like I do

Either chuck them all into one bin, or color organize it and chuck them into several bins

^guys, i have two big tubs full of them, i want to organize them because i have so much of them. like, by brick type, but not too specific, because there are, like, a 1,000 kinds of bricks

I have one bix Cardboard box, that's like 10 years old, and somehow not fallen apart.
And then I have 2 large toy-chests that my parents brought for me and my brothers when we were children for storing large baby toys and things.
Those 2 are just filled with a completely random assortment of absolute stuff. Crap loads of random toys and things, like toy cars, Action Men, and any number of unknown things.
And both have a thick layer of Lego blocks that just fills the bottom of them.

i have 5 sections.

1) minifig parts and accessories
2) anything technic
3) standard bricks, you know what they are, inc ramps
4) standard flats/plates, inc decal plates
5) specials (everything else) but at this point its much easier to find what im looking for.

and a bucket of electric lego train track lol

yeah, i have lots of rare pieces and a lot of legos, but there are also generic lego copy crap that doesn't fit with anything else, and then the occasional random thing, like old candy, army men, and more, so i wanted to toss that back in the bins and get the legos and find my older and cooler minifigs lost in toys.

Go with something like this, maybe add sub categories like base plates, transparents, curves, ramps, and windows/doors.

years ago i had a super specific, ultra separated set up.
but as i used the legos back and forth, it became such a pain in the ass to resort things so perfectly, that i dreaded even touching my legos lol

I have color organized bins, 2 small things of minifigures, and a fishing bait box of random pieces.

like i said, i want something to do this with, like a nice thing with drawers, but the one i put in op was too small when i compared it with the size of legos and the amount i have.

i'm guessing you don't have it anymore?
if you do, would you mind taking pics?

Not really too big. The Black/Grey and the Red ones are big though.
