You never asked, though. It's incredibly boring, poorly optimized, ugly as sin (default is, anyway, Tronic pack is yummy), has no good multiplayer "trust" system, some other stuff I'm too tired to think of now.

It's incredibly boring, the game wasn't meant to give you stuff to do, you have to use it's tools and create your own adventure. if you can't do that, there are mods.
poorly optimized, yes it is.
ugly as sin (default is, anyway, Tronic pack is yummy), texture packs are a wonderful thing, yes.
has no good multiplayer "trust" system, pretty sure some server mods implement this, but for those without (which is usually most), I understand. I don't think the survival approach in minecraft really warrants this though.

imo minecraft is no fun at all without mods. well, it is. but only with friends, and that doesn't last long
I mostly play creative though. and I honestly hate using redstone without redpower

yeah, redstone's not great. it's useful in the game, but compared to what some other sandbox games have, it's pretty weak. some of the stuff that the technic pack adds to it makes it much better, but a lot of that should be in vanilla if you ask me
