Asphault Desert

This is my current project I'm doing. I'm going to use the default bricks and colorset. I'm doing this because I have never been capable of doing a very large scale project, and because I think deserts are cool.

NOTES: I know that the ground texture looks not one bit like asphault, but the black texture looked ugly.
Also, "cement desert" doesn't sound as nice.

There are things I need to do:
Road, lots of road
Town
Rest Stops
Terrain (I need some help with this, considering I can't do terrain for stuff)

Feel free to rate x/10

Definition of ASPHALT
1
: a dark bituminous substance that is found in natural beds and is also obtained as a residue in petroleum refining and that consists chiefly of hydrocarbons
2
: an asphaltic composition used for pavements and as a waterproof cement

*asphalt.

4/10. Not really any detail and very little to the build. You seem to be also attempting to copy the Dustlands map, but that's just me.

"Asphalt" is too many letters short and it would make the sign look funny.
I'm not copying the Dustlands Map, I'm doing my own thing.

I'm sure you could do something with the sign to make it look normal. Spelling it wrong probably isn't the best solution

It's the name of a town, it doesn't have to be spelled right.

Also, sorry if there is some lighting inconsistency throughout pictures I post, it's because I have to re-create the lighting and such every time.

Isn't there a mod that lets you have enviroment favorites?

did you base this on the dustlands map?

Yeah, but at the moment RTB is kind of weird so I'm not going to mess around with GUIs and such for now.

This was kind of inspired by it, but I'm not trying to copy it.

Updaaaaate:

I added more road

Started to make the rediculously long drive to the gas station.
Also, I need help with how I should do the gas station, considering I'm stuffty at building things like that. I'd also like some help on how to build cars out of brick, because I want to make some parked cars in the lot.

I would consider repainting the yellow lines to a drabber yellow, to show wear and tear in the paint, and also, making any road offshoots, from the main road, dirt, with less roundness than you currently have.

The ground is supposed to be asphalt, I'm using the default colorset. I like roundness.

Yes, I realize that you said it's asphalt, I'm saying making the lines darker, they look to bright to be in the desert.  And I'm not saying make the roads squared-off, just not as round as you have in the picture, it needs a smaller radial curve.

I like it the way it is, I'm not too good at making things look round so I doubt I will re-do it.
