Author Topic: ATI Raedon HD Not Working With Shaders...?  (Read 3057 times)

Has this guy updated drivers in a while?

Apple has an obsession of making environmentally friendly products that have poor performance.

Mobility isn't as good as a desktop but it is not "poor performance". I use a mobility radeon HD and its gaming ability is surprising.

Has this guy updated drivers in a while?

I'm pretty sure driver updates are done through the Software Update tool, packaged with other tweaks. So as long as he is updating his system bi-monthly he should have.

I am using a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and I am getting the same problem, but I am on a mac

im using the 330m on my pc laptop and the S&S's work.
(though not the greatest fps. but it does in fact work)

try updating open gl stuff, or video drivers.

I really don't see why everyone's hating on Macs when that is not the issue here. Let me put this out there right here, right now: I am supportive of BOTH Windows and Macs. Yes, I know that Macs aren't specifically meant for gaming, and sure, I'd love to have an Alienware laptop to game on. But I have a Mac NOW, and that probably won't change anytime soon. I'd really rather not turn this into a Mac vs. PC battle.

Now, the real problem here, for those of you who jumped right into the fray instead of looking at the original post, is that for some reason, my card isn't supporting 3D textures (which, if I had to guess, means bump mapped [AKA normal mapped] textures). This is weird, because I've run many-a-program that runs these fine.

Any help on this topic is welcome. Otherwise, please just don't bother.

most macs can't run shaders

sell it for three PCs
To everyone getting mad at him, check you facts. Macs currently don't support the version of a certain library blockland uses for shaders.

And don't go calling me a Mac hater. I use one too.

And your primary reason being that you can only develop for iOS with a Mac.

That doesn't mean that I don't have to gain from its ups and suffer from its downs.

OK, the 6630M shaders work fine on Windows 7, but they won't work on Mac OS X.

I got an ANTI Radeon HD and it's working very well.

NOEDIT: ATI*

I have EXACTLY the same problem and i just can't get it why torque shaders wont run on macs...
For other game engines such as unreal, unity, source and BGE they work on macs with no problem.
