Well if your mom's injured:
That could have been a stranger who witnessed the accident of her mom being hurt and then the mom said to go get her daughter to come and see here but she was so injured that she forgot to tell the women about the codeword

also the guy who tells the little girl that she needs a friend looks like Tommy Lee Jones

If my mother was injured, and she knew I was nearby and got a stranger to go get me quickly as I was her last hope, and I asked the stranger for a codeword... my mother would come back from the grave, assuming she died, and beat the stuff out of my with a chair.
