Would doing this increase your range that your fingers can stretch from eachother?

No, I don't think so. For me, it doesn't feel like the skin gets taut, just that my joins don't do that.

your skin is flexible. you'll get a wider range if you regularly stretch them a little. no need to do horrible things.

Like I play bass, if I did this would I be able to reach further frets without moving my hands?

I don't think I'd do it because of pain but it's a cool idea.

Like some Assassin's Creed stuff. Cut off your body part to be better at other things.

I wouldn't recommend that. Your fingers are limited to certain spacing for a reason. If your hand got pulled hard, that part that you cut will would take the fall for your finger instead of ripping your finger off of its socket, or straining / ripping the muscles. On top of that, your fingers would be very un-coordinated to use.

Place a tennis ball between your fingers. My buddy who also plays guitar does this and told me about it, it really helps. No need to harm yourself.
