it's not good as in "respectable" or "not cool to use"

I meant by richard's perspective. I have no problem with the phlog since the pyro becomes vulnerable to demomen/soldiers with it.

Ambush the enemy, defend engineer buildings, spy check. Just by simply igniting the enemy and running off before they can get a shot on you is doing a lot, considering most of them will fall back for health and be weakened giving your team an opportunity to push. You can do all this with the default loadout.

I do just fine with the Degreaser Shotgun and Powerjack. In fact the set decimates people who use that combo as Pyro.
