On the server I frequent it doesn't remove it. People can join and it announces they're gagged/muted.

I hate it when I'm enjoying my time on a server, and then some tryhard with a anime avatar, and a name involving some sort of part of the body comes in and just sucks the fun out of it and goes sniper and lets none of the other team have fun.
