This is exactly what I did.

I haven't heard much of the actual Slenderman meme, although suffice to say this is yet another skew in line with SCP-087-B: There is a story. Someone makes a game about the story not completely following the details. Someone else makes a game only based off the previous already skewed game further skewing the original idea.

My point: You can have your scary -just don't complicate the meaning of the idea with original and skewed versions - call it something else.

i want a slenderman game with a big budget that follows the original mythos

you know, like a town haunted by slenderman, complete with mutilated corpses in the trees, creepy government logs, fog, an obscenely tall slenderman, etc.

Don't forget the strange, seemingly purposeless abandoned structures in the woods.

Yeah, the original stuff was better.
I also like the idea that the slenderman is able to walk pretty much silently even in thick snow for the same reason that moose are pretty quiet; the long thin legs kinda slipping vertically into the snow.

Who the hell honestly thinks that walking around looking for poorly designed notes in a game with all-default Unity textures is fun?

I like horror games and all (Amnesia was great, Dead Space(s) is(were) cool, you know), but why do people make these? They're not very good at all, and as Extrude put it, they are really badly made. In particular, this whole game seems to relay entirely on just having stuff jump at you (Okay, Dead Space did that too, but at least you got to shoot them!). There's not a whole lot to catch a player's interest.

these lights creep the stuff out of me

i dont play horror games because of dark hallways
im terrified of dark hallways
even in unabandoned buildings with people walking around

dube

let me hug you
i am so scared of dark hallways ;~;

The setup.ini has data for multiplayer and server names and stuff... Although it seems to all be disabled...

Edit: Most of the game files are in Game.enc, which turns out to just be a passworded archive. Does anyone know a program that can trace the communication between an application and a file so I could catch the password it passes onto Game.enc? I want to apply 'fun' to the game.

Edit2: Maybe this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx

So the password is 46 characters long? The program lists a series of access to Game.enc alternating between seemingly random length accesses and the above 46 length access, leading me to believe the random length is a file access and the 46 length is the password being applied.

I seriously have no idea why the guy used this packer for it. This thing has over the top protection and seems to be freeware mainly used for making payware, which he can't honestly expect. In fact, he originally listed it as other maps having to be paid for, although now it seems it's all free but you can donate to them, which is unrelated to this.

Edit4: Now I'm not sure:

the crappiness of the unity engine is the source of the horror
