Author Topic: Bot Events II  (Read 30266 times)

sorry for asking a question
i said maybe, i wasn't shouting at them to give me a beta
But you're sorta missing the point, dude.
The beta will be public if at all!

It would be nice to see being able to control the head for once alone. instead of having to use multiple bodies and stack them together to look like one.

So is that handy chat that everyone uses, I can easily make a script to spam a and d all day and get banned after overloading the server. The point is to make it so that it isn't tempting, or ridiculously abusive.

no, i have events that gives a perfect example of how abusive it is.

Code: [Select]
onBotDamaged -> Bot -> InstantRespawn
If I were making an invisible murdering machine, I would change that line to
onBotDamaged -> Bot -> AddHealth   1000

Anyway, albeit true that's a bit abusable..
1. Can't hurt anybody outside of a minigame (unless you straight up kill them on impact)
2. Can't crash the server, so all an admin has to do is wand the brick and / or ban the player
3. Admin menu -> ClearBricks

An example of truely abusable would be the crashing servers with 2 lines of events.

it's still abusable because if you sprayed the brick completely transparent on a baseplate, it would be much harder to find the victim and fix the problem, it is abusable.

it's still abusable
I'm not saying it's not abusable.
I'm saying, killing machine bots aren't on our main list of priorities at the moment, its more fixing the crashing of servers, along with alot of aspects of it being remade.

because if you sprayed the brick completely transparent on a baseplate, it would be much harder to find the victim and fix the problem, it is abusable.
Ehh... Not really.

Anyway, solution?
We could make an rtb pref so that bots are only able to target people in a minigame. Done.

Interesting idea.

Or or or
certain parts of bot events should be admin only

but your idea is fine to i guess.

But, my idea balances this, so even if it does become abusive, simply ticking a checkbox in preferences makes all sentient bots do nothing hostile.

Save, open the save in a text editor, search for bot events, find out who owns the brick, permaban ID.

1. Can't hurt anybody outside of a minigame (unless you straight up kill them on impact)
2. Can't crash the server, so all an admin has to do is wand the brick and / or ban the player
3. Admin menu -> ClearBricks
1: yes, it can
2:hide the brick among  others  - what now?
3: what if you have a not-suspicious amount of bricks?

Save, open the save in a text editor, search for bot events, find out who owns the brick, permaban ID.

Then people can keep doing it.
Might as well just make RTB prefs for certain events.

just make certain events a admin only option and you won't have to worry about going out of your way do that.
