Short description
Dropbox is a very usefull online file sharing service you can simple drag files into a folder in my documents and its instantly uploaded to the web, you can do things like share folders with friends and once you or they drag something into a shared folder you/them will see it, aswell as sharing files with your friends you can put files in a public folder and share them with the web, also I think you can use it to upload photos but I haven't tried that yet

How to get even more space (these require an account)
Getting Started Complete atleast 5 of these to get +250 mb:
  1. Take the dropbox tour
  2. Install Dropbox on your computer
  3. Put files on dropbox
  4. Install dropbox on other computers
  5. Share a folder with someone
  6. Invite someone else to join dropbox
  7. Install dropbox on a mobile device
Simple tasks:
  1. Tweet about dropbox
  2. Link with twitter
  3. Follow dropbox on twitter
  4. Link with facebook
  5. say why you love dropbox
Refer a friend to dropbox
+500 mb to both of you
Camera uploads up to +2.5 gb
for every 500 mb you worth of videos and pictures you upload from your camera you get +500 mb of space (up to 2.5 gb)

you can still do this without a camera, get a flash drive and do the following
 1. make a folder called DCIM
 2. place photos/videos in it
 3. Start autoplay with it
 4. Click import photos and videos with dropbox
 6 Success

If this kind of referal linking is against the rules (which I don't think it is) I will remove it immediately

god damn beat me to it.

wait they are?

10. No pyramid/referral schemes -  No one is going to give you money or an iPod/flatscreeen monitor/xbox 360/whatever just for getting people to click on some crappy link.  It's a scam to get you to spam forums for them.  Stop posting this crap.

it seems to more refer to un-legit refferal, in this situation everyone wins

can an admin tell me if this is against the rules though?

I'd ratherh ave 500 brotherbites

From the rules in GD it would appear that only referral schemes are against the rules. Like the crap where loads of people spam the forums to get money or prizes and such.

I don't think having a link to a legitimate service, and then saying, "If you do sign up please use this link to benefit us all." is against the rules. I may be wrong though.

i already have an extra 1.3gb on my dropbox from doing events that dropbox hosts to get more space

fun stuff

Most forums disallow stuff like this, this may be more in the gray area for this forum. Not sure...

Use SkyDrive instead. You get 7GB free without having to spam referral links.

You can get 5GB with Google Drive.
If you have a Nexus 2 then you can get 1TB for free.

5GB on my Google Drive, 10GB on my Gmail. Makes sense.

I mainly like dropbox's way of working, how I can just drag something into a folder, I've yet to see one as efficient as dropbox, although its harder to get more space
