I completely understand that this is true but at the same time cops need to learn to handle things in such a way that nobody dies and with minimal injury, they could have shot him once in the foot or continued to try to get him to drop the knife rather then loving filling him with bullets.

Maybe the first guy did shoot him in the foot and the others thought it was their cue to follow suit.

I wouldn't rely on cop's general avoidance of lethal force if they had 5 weapons pointed at me and I was carrying a weapon.

I mean, how handicapped do you have to be to approach 5 guns with a loving knife? Someone this blindly aggressive is probably better off dead.

until we get the full and real story, this is just more hippie bullstuff. they dont even explain what he was doing outside of a resturant with a knife in his hand, he could have just murdered five people inside for all we know. in addition the mom "says" her son was mentally disturbed, there is no actual evidence that he actually is. and the video is bullcrap because they cut all but like 20 seconds of it to make it look like it was all the polices fault.

Cops are only supposed to use lethal force when their life is directly threatened. A man with a knife standing at a distance from 6 armed police officers is not life threatening.

This is probably true for a lot of states but this is connecticut law

Cops like surviving, and you seem to doubt a person's ability to resist taser shocks. If you're wearing thick clothing that the darts can't pierce through completely or you're high on meth then you can actually resist it, which could prove fatal when an officer had a knife driven into him because they were feet away from the guy.

Taser darts are just fish hooks. Anyway atleast the guy they shot didn't have a gun.

Lets be honest, if 4 cops tasered him or shot him in the foot, everyone would be busting a nut over police brutality anyway.

The moral of the story is: Don't kill the guy trying to stab you or you're a prick. Get stabbed instead.
