Author Topic: Police Shoot Man 46 Times in 5 Seconds  (Read 4075 times)

Always aim for the legs.  What the forget.
What the forget kind of gun safety class did you take?

Yeah that makes sense in your video games but that's not how real life works. A gun is an officer's last resort, if you are shooting someone as a police officer you are eliminating the threat, you are not disabling, you are not warning, you are using deadly force. Not only does shooting someone in the legs not guarantee threat elimination but, it is much harder to hit someone's legs opposed to the center mass. NOT ONLY THAT but, even if you shoot someone in the legs it isn't guaranteed that their wound won't be non-fatal. If you hit an artery and there's no ambulance on scene the wound is likely to be fatal.

The actions of the police officers are a tad bit excessive but justifiable. If the man in the video had a knife and was moving towards an officer with it, his intention was to kill the officer. The officers are supposed to respond accordingly.
Where did you pop out from?

Shooting a man 46 times is unnessicary when you have a tazer.
An officer armed with a tazer was on the way when the shooting occurred.

I wonder if he would be even more dead if he got tazed 46 times.

I try to post whenever potentially meaningful discussion occurs.

You don't realize that the man was an immediate threat, he was moving towards an officer. If someone's life is in danger you're not going to wait for someone with a tazer, you're going to put an end to the situation.

Exactly, its like that guy that was eating another guys face and they had to shoot him. I mean sure they could have tried to tase him and take him down and put him in handcuffs and it could have worked and he would be all happy in a straight jacket right now. But holy forget he was eating someones face, I would have shot him as much as I could because I would be scared out of my mind and he looks dangerous as forget. Its common sense.

The face thing was different. That guy's head was in a the skya loving nebula. Multiple times they warned him and tried to detain him, but he loving growled and continued to eat a god damn face. They shot him a few times - didn't even phase the guy. After like eight shots or something he finally bled out.

It's safe to say if they tried to taser him or something, he would have had a side of bacon with that face. Shooting him was the best case scenario.

What the forget what the forget forget shoot them in the knees and then teabag 'em.

The legs reduce movement speed by 50%.

Well yeah, but I'm saying regardless of the state of the person, shooting someone eating another person would be anyone's immediate decision anywhere.

That's incredible.

How could anyone think 46 shots would be needed to take a single guy down?

I agree. That is an example of when a split-second decision works out. Sometimes things don't go perfectly; it's a lot easier to make a decision from behind your computer and think it over - not so easy in the heat of the moment.

The investigation wasn't even finished.

Everyone shut the forget up.

I'm also wondering if all 46 shots hit the guy, because thats what the title implies. I mean they were close, but still, thats a pretty steady hand for all of those cops.

You can't make bean bag rounds for handguns, only shotguns. Police officers tend to not lug around obvious, intimidating shotguns everywhere they go.
I already know that beanbag rounds can only be for a shotguns and 40mm grenade launchers, but I bet you didn't know that most squad cars carry a pump action shotgun or a AR15(bullets only I know) up in the front or in the truck. Shouldn't be to hard to run back to the car and pull out the shotgun and load a bean bag shell into the gun. Now I'm not sure this is true for every state, but here in Cali every officer carries a taser, can of mace, a baton, their service weapon, and shotgun or rifle.
