I think your shader quality may be the issue. It needs to be at least at low for it to look like it does in the screenshots. Also, make sure that you give it a -little- more view distance, but have the fog on max or near max, so that it gives it a much more gradual transition.

I know, but when I set the view distance thing with the fog, it sort of makes an invisible barrier.
The picture is with the view distance reduced to it's lowest.

I'm also not using the save, I just want to try to recreate that fog effect.
Set the Fog Distance to less than the Visible Distance.
Set Fog Distance to 0, and Visible Distance to 20.

You should turn off Shadows and shaders while you're building, and only turn them on when you're taking the screenshots or want to see how it looks.

Good question. I don't know exactly what that is, either. You could try loading without it.

It's an nVidia GTS 250. They run pretty hot, and they always seem to have problems with things regarding shaders and shadows in games, especially.
