It's your own fault.

You can fix it.

too hard

Your only posts in the last 10 pages have been "lol its probly 2 herd fur her!!!!!11 LOLLLL" and it's starting to get on my nerves.

When shyGriff was born. Her mother said "What a treasure!" Her dad said "Yep. Lets bury it."

Jesus forget, get out.
You're not even contributing to the thread now, you're just making richard moves towards shyGriff. I hope you get banned.

if you can realize that you have a problem but dont aim towards solving it, just to complain about it in the end what does that make you

lazy as forget

So I just skimmed the first few pages and I had a good laugh. I always knew Glass was an idiot, but its still amusing to see him flail about. I don't think you understand the difficulty that comes with modeling (or Buu, but he seems like an idiot as well) or scripting, or building for that matter. Anyone can create a bunch of cubes in a modeling program (or 1x1x5 spam or a line of basic scripting for that matter). The issue arises in actually performing these tasks well. Furthermore, who would even suggest building when she already said she was bored of Blockland? Or modeling, or scripting? What could she possibly create? And where's the motivation to do it? Learning a difficult art just because you have nothing better to do isn't the type of motivation that convinces people to stick with something in the long run, no less actually try in the first place.

I don't think you understand how people function.

Noedit: Or - and here's a novel concept, I know - she doesn't want to do any of these things. Oh, the horror!

Now that I've read through this cesspool of a thread I can honestly say I've never been more appalled at the community members in this place. Between the distinct lack of empathy, the inability to understand shyGriff at all, and the rampant ignorance, you've succeeded in physically causing my brain to hurt. Really, I've got a minor headache from just trying to comprehend the stuff that's been spewed out here. There is just so much stupidity I'd have to quote pages of replies just to retort. I'll just have to sum things up.

#1 'bla bla social anxiety, get medicine/treatment/see a therapist it's so easy'
No. Firstly, let it be said that a therapist and a psychiatrist are completely different. Psychiatrists are the one who supply medication to treat mental illnesses, and therapists are the ones who have the feel good talking sessions. Now that that's cleared up, I'm sure you're aware (somehow I doubt you are) that, since both are doctors, you have to pay for their time. Not only that, but you also have to pay for the medicine as well. This is, of course, assuming you aren't covered by health insurance. If you don't, you're stuff out of luck. So if she says she can't get the medicine it's probably because she can't afford it. A reasonable conclusion, yeah?

Secondly, going to therapy and talking about your problems isn't a magical fix, and I have no idea why it's being implied that that's all she needs to fix her problems. A therapist is the same as any other human being, and generally that means someone who is anxious in social instances will continue to be anxious. A novel concept, I know. You don't just get over things like this - some people have the strength to persevere and do so, and good for them. Others don't, and you have to learn to accept that. Just because someone else could, doesn't mean an entirely different person can. We're all people with vastly different and often unique experiences.

We suggested most things you can do in Blockland, you shot all of them down.
I felt this post should be the winner of 'Most Stupid Post', the award I've totally just thought up. I can't believe I actually have to type up an explanation for this, but here goes: No, you didn't. You suggested building, but as previously stated she has little motivation with which to actually build something with. Modeling, scripting, or making music (what is wrong with you people) are nothing you can do in Blockland - on top of that, I fail to see how any of this is actually considered 'fun'. Why make music? Look it up on YouTube. Few people download music in-game anyway because of how massive the files tend to be. Why model? Why script? 'Because you have nothing else to do'? Please. That is not motivation enough to do anything. Learning how to model or script is like learning how to write prose, or draw. Why would you even bother with such a complicated art when you don't have a reason to? 'Because I'm bored' is not the type of mindset that gets people passionate about their work and for you to imply that it's so easy to get into is mind-boggling. Remember that everyone is different, and while you might think throwing together a bunch of polygons for a game with millions of weapons already is fun, other people don't. Also remember that those who suffer from depression have a sincere lack of motivation and by shouting at them or being cruel to them, you won't actually help them. Instead, you make yourself look like a stuff-faced cunt, which most of the people in this thread have done.

Answer your own question. Why should she try any of this? What reason does she have? What motivation? Supply some actual, real motivation, not something shallow and stupid like 'it might be fun'! That is not good enough, not in the slightest. All I've seen in this nineteen pages are a bunch of pricks hounding at shyGriff because she is unmotivated. Well, achieving that motivation is not something easy in the slightest. As I said before, I am completely appalled by the lack of empathy you people tend to exhibit on this forum in general. It's like you forget you're actually talking with real human beings on this forum. That everyone has to be a troll, or a moron, and never suffers from a genuine problem. I was disgusted when I saw people ridiculing shyGriff for being depressed, or for suffering from a very real disease - and then telling her to just get over it, like some arm chair therapist. I've yet to see a PhD from anyone involved.

Not everyone is a troll, not everyone is a liar, and people are genuine. If you would just remember that these are actual human beings with real feelings you're interacting with, maybe there wouldn't be so many liars or trolls around. Just because it's the internet doesn't mean your interactions with someone are any less meaningful. And if you think so, well, you deserved to be judged that much more harshly. You who would sit behind the mask of anonymity and use that to hurt other people when you claim you're just doing it to protect yourself from someone else wielding that mask. You can sit there and think in a backward way, that shyGriff is just being this way for attention. Previous experiences with other female forum members have made you 'wise' in your teenage years, as if such an adjective could be used to describe anyone our age. But turn that thinking around - what have you really done? Harassed a depressed young girl and brought her down so much she would even go so far as to contemplate Self Delete once again. Solidified her fear of people, her fear of socialization because things like this happen. You put yourselves above her and scream down at her to get over it when you're doing nothing but giving her all the more reason to stay like she is, and keep shouting and yelling when she doesn't change. Perpetuating the cycle.

Being a cynic is not all it's cracked up to be. I'm aware you're walking that part of life (as am I) where you're neither child nor adult, and have responsibilities (but yet not all) with little freedom. Where the childhood innocence or naivety gives way to a world which seems much darker, and so it always has to be someone lying, or trolling, or similar. Well, the real, actual world is not as dark as it actually seems. Empathy is not a quality that makes you into a fool. At the end of the day, there is a real human being with actual emotions on the other end of the computer screen. Just because you can hurt them from miles and miles away doesn't mean you should.

Shes just saying that she cant do a lot of the things suggested? She didnt really "shoot down" the suggestions, she at least thought about them and provided a reason why she couldnt do it. I dont see anything wrong with her behavior in this particular example.

-incredibly long post-

You, sir/miss, are an example of what keeps my hope in the human race going.

Though practically non-existent, it's there.
