Just copy a space and press ctrl v whenever you need a space to tide you over until you get a new one.

Reminds me of when I was cleaning my keyboard and while removing keys the v key flew across the room and I had to use \/ as a V for a day. Even Baddy made fun of me :(

Which reminds me, I reorganized my room and hardcore cleaned it a while ago and still never found the v key.
