Author Topic: Shoulder is killing me.  (Read 1270 times)

My shoulder is killing me right now. At football practice today we were working on this drill and I got hit by this guy and tackled but when I landed I landed right on my shoulder. Now it hurts to lift it above my head. If my arm is down I can bend my lower and and hand up and down but when I move that elbow up it kills. I hope it something minor that will heal in a couple of days and not something like a torn rotary cuff.

Anyone ever have this happen?

Could have a pinched nerve, or you may have just pulled a muscle. You may want to go to the doctor's to have it checked out if it's really bad.

Better kill it first! Ha!

Pinched nerve.

trying to stay off of it.

Im terrified that it was a rotary cuff injury because that would mean done with football and possibly some wrestling.

Probably is.

EDIT: I just called my uncle. It's impingement syndrome. You may need surgery, and lots of rest.

why do you play both
because unlike the majority of the people here, some of us actually like playing sports and being active.

I can understand that
but I'm in marching band (don't think I'd enjoy anything else though), and that alone is really tiring and pretty much an all-day thing
so unless you're missing practices for one of them, I don't see how it's even possible
because the football team practices almost as much as we do

its not insane pain where I can move my arm around.

Hopefully rest and icing and staying off of it will help.

Oh, okay, then it's a torn rotator cup.

then thats basically just as bad

yo, your going to get hurt in football, just take it until it heals. there are booboo's and there are injuries, injuries put you out of the game and booboo's are something you get over. just dont overwork yourself, tell your coach that you can't hit if you need too, and if it gets really bad or something, then go see a doctor.

honestly I wouldnt be so upset if it happened later in the season.

this is just embarrassing lol
