Any host of any server can instantly give out the IP of all connected players.

Blockland must be shut down for player safety!

Oh wait. Any server from anything can do the exact same thing.

Shut down the internet!

Happens with new IPs on the net, the coordinates are 0, 0 which is why the server lands there.

Doing a DDoS requires hundreds of computers, a botnet. This is illigal and not exactly easy to obtain. There is no risk in giving out your IP address.

I think you need to have a program running that is listening for requests and sending out large amounts of data

Actually it only requires 2 computers, but 1 computer could even be enough to get the job. The amount of computers is irrelevant if they're in the same network.
