Author Topic: Parents are gonna get divorced  (Read 2002 times)

Well as title says, my parents are gonna get divorced.

Lately my mom has been getting tired of the way my dad treats her, always ignoring her, calling her names, and saying he will change when he doesn't. They have been arguing a lot and my mom told me today that she has had enough. I feel she is doing the right thing by leaving him, and I don't feel super sad about the situation. The biggest problem for me right now is seeing my own dad this sad. I rarely ever see him sad, but never like this. I know that after we leave him he is going to become super depressed, and I can't stand it knowing he feels like this. After I came home from practice today, he was really nice to me, got me a carton of chocolate milk, asked me how things were going, and all that stuff. I know he is becoming depressed, and it has been killing me. The reason why I post this here is because I hardly have any friends that I can talk to, and they hardly ever take me seriously. So I would like it if you guys could suggest some things to cheer me up.

I've seen this kind of thing happen
Don't let go of either, though it's probably for the best for them to split.

Apparently a majority of the board belongs to children of divorced parents. That, or a majority of the internet. It's strange.

AKA I'm sure a lot of people here can help.

I've been through a parent divorce too, albeit at a much younger age (6 years old.) After the divorce, just see if your mother is nice enough to let you visit your dad on weekends.

Sounds very very very sad. If I were you then I'd be screaming and crying.

I feel sorry for you. :(

I feel sorry for you, even though I couldn't comprehend what it's like due to me never meeting my father.

My Mother's Dad died when he was going to war.

He died when she was 7 :C

My parents started getting divorced 2 years ago, and it's still going on.

My dad was depressed somewhat like your dad, but then he found a new gf and he became a lot better. Just try to comfort your patents and tell them both that you still love them.

Must suck :C
I'm waiting for someone to edit this quote.

OT: My parents almost divorced 4 years ago. :I

I was 7 when my parents got divorced and at first I was sad like really sad at first but it turned out to be the best thing for everyone ahah if anyone were to ask me nowadays if I wished my parents were still together I'd say forgetk no!

You'll be alright kid

Sorry I can't really cheer you up. I can give you some advice though, tell you're dad you love him and you don't blame him or anything. My father died isolated and alone and I'll always feel bad about that.
