Author Topic: More FX Paints  (Read 2404 times)

I'm reviving an old idea I had for v16 that was never made, more FX paints!

The FX row would be reworked into 3 rows, color FX, shape FX, and property FX.

Color FX is everything that is listed in the events for color FX. plus a few more, laser, reflect, dim, and invert.
Laser would look like rays on a brick. Think of it like this, some kind of space game and a ship is shooting lasers by the screen.
Reflect would look like the reflect affect in Roblox, but of course, better.
Dim would be the reverse of glow, it would make the brick darker.
Invert would invert the color of the brick.

Shape FX is everything that is listed in the events for shape FX, plus a few more, water, shake, and spin.
Water already exists, but it would be cool if it was default and put into the colorset list.
Shake would make a brick appear as if it's shaking.
Spin would make a brick appear as if it's spinning.

Property FX would allow you to change a brick's properties without hitting it with a wrench. Normal, no-raycasting, no-collision, and invisibility.
Normal would be kinda like how none and solid is, but for properties.
No-raycasting would deactivate raycasting on a brick.
No-collision would deactivate collision on a brick.
Invisibility would deactivate rendering on a brick.

Also, the invisibility property FX would make completely invisible colors in colorsets even more obsolete.

Would be cool if Badspot increased the amount of colors. 64 is actually pretty small for me. Would be cool if it was 96 or even 128.

I like this idea, meybe Pearl FX should be removed, I barely notice the difference.

Also How about FX Reflect?
It would replace chrome whenever you have shaders at least in the minimum or low.
It would look Reflective but it wouldn't work like a mirror at all.

No, pearl is useful for metallic stuff.
Chrome looks pretty ugly imo

No, Pearl FX is kinda like a toned-down version of Chrome FX.

FX Reflect
This?

I don't really like the idea of the property FX. You might accidentally hit a brick you weren't aiming for and not notice it. I'd find it better to just use the wrench.

I love the idea of everything else, though.

Would it be possible for this to be an add-on, and not default? I don't believe so, but is it possible?

Ohh, that's not a bad idea.

EDIT: Added to OP.

Basically the same chrome thing as in Roblox?

Yeah. I admit, their reflect affect looks great, except for the fact that you only see the original sky, and not any other sky you apply in the reflect affect.
