some are similar, but they all have different names for a reason.

i guess i shouldn't expect you to fully understand.
rap and rock have noticable differences
drumwalk and hightop or whatever do not. they are just electronic songs, and its not a matter of how educated you are in electrology or whatever.

your attention to detail isn't universal.

small details in a song dont change their entire genre.

entire genre, no. subgenre, yes.

all electronic songs are all the same genre, electronic. small details are what changes it's subgenre. as explained on the previous page, a subgenres are here mainly for categorization and so that people will find and listen to exactly what they want.

for you it doesn't really matter since (from what i've gathered) you don't really listen to electronic music, but again I suppose I shouldn't expect you to understand because of this fact.

Holy stuff guys you've taken electronic music and killed it with a ton of sub-genres. Nah that's not progressive-techno house its  more of a post-modern pop electro-disco. Dubstep? More like Sub-Bass HardTranceCore.

No need to make millions of little subgenres when you can say "wow this sounds good". Or in the VERY least you don't need to argue over it.

Since I heard OP likes Drum and Bass, I found a nice soothing one.

Dubstep is when you take a song and remix it a little bit

those genres don't even legitimately exist, i'm talking about dubstep / electro / house / trance / hardstyle <-- these have definitive differences worth noting and categorizing.

actually, dubstep is defined as a song that is around 140 BPM, has mostly half time drums and a focus on a dark, deep bass.

lolno, the first person is more right.

Yes, I do agree those are the subgenres of electronic music. But those other sub-genres I was hearing a few pages back...not so much.

Also, is Nu-Disco a subgenre? I mean it does have its own sound to it and all.
