If zero didn't exist, we couldn't use binary!

1, 10, 11, 100, 101, 110, 111, 1000, 1001, 1010, 1100, 1101
Agreed!
btw, 1100 = 12, you skipped 11, which is 1011.

highest number yoy have there is 13, which is 1101, so ill continue to 20!
1110, 1111, 10000, 10001, 10010, 10011, 10100!

Anyway, the answer, i believe, is one.
That one number being 0.
0 is a real number, but its an oddball of the sort. Zero is a real number lacking a value. Technically, every possible number (not just real ones) is divisible by zero, it would just be an infinitely small answer, which is why it is impossible to divide by zero.
Following this fact, it is logical that zero is indeed able to be divided by infinity, which is the number of numbers that are able to be divided by one.

I have written a theory on division by zero, but thats for another thread.

I like this topic! Surprisingly this is one subject i love to talk about!

Well I have my opinion.

Sense there is an infinite number of numbers divisible by 1. And you can't divide any number by infinity. The answer has to be: 0.

You can divide zero by any number. (albiet true you will never get an answer)

You can divide infinity by zero.

Zero = a number (with no value)
Infinity = a number with an infinitely large value

So i believe the answer is 1.

You can't divide infinity by anything, it's a concept, not a number.

Infinity is a number.
Infinite* is a concept.

Infinity is a number infinitely long.
Infinite is the lack of the ability to be finite, to be never ending, to not have a limit.
Therefore, Infinity is a neverending-ly large number, a number without a limit.
It is a number you will never reach by any means.

If you follow what I said, you can't divide anything by infinity. thus making you have 0 possibilities.

edit: nvm I typo'd

That cant be possible using the fact that any number is divisible by zero, and that infinity is a number.

I think we just created a paradox worse than division by zero itself...

but... no number is divisible by 0.

but... no number is divisible by 0.
Wrong.
Any number is divisible by zero.
The answer to that equation is impossible to get to.

for example:
4 / 0 = 0.00000000......inf

Ill probably post my theory about division by 0 tomorrow after school, then you'd understand what i mean.

I am curious, where is the source of your information? I want to read up on this

75% thought, 5% asking professors from various colleges, 20% logic.
Im going off a theory i wrote myself. I worked on it for about 4 months or so last school year and finally got a concrete 'answer' to the issue.

So you can divide by zero? Is this 100% proven yet?

So you can divide by zero?
Technically, yes.
Computers dont let you do it because it would melt their motherboards (its happened before)

Is this 100% proven yet?
Its proven in my theory, which I believe is the first of its kind.

Officially? No, but I firmly believe my theory is correct. You'll see tomorrow.

Id post it now but im on my kindle fire, and typing is meh.

Anyhoo, its about time i get off forums. Its 4:43am and tomorrow is my first day of school.

This is pretty cool.
