It was pretty okay when it was new on Halo 3. Besides the fact every guy and his mother wanted and if they had it, they wore the full armor set. I have a love/hate relationship with the sord though...

IMO original flood were the best. They looked like legitimate zombies but still had the alien aspect to them. The new flood just look like skinless aliens to me.

That's pretty creepy. Just seeing a human body entirely repurposed like that. And where the hell are the infection forms in those bodies? Did, uh... did 343 just forget how the Flood work?

And let's not forget that even after you're transformed some small part of your consciousness is still alive and aware of what's happening to you. Captain Keyes was able to recall his transformation into a Combat Form when he was made into a Proto-Gravemind. This means at the time of his infection he was still perfectly aware, and was alive until the Master Chief punched through his skull. That's pretty loving creepy.
