Right?  It's based on an older short story, and not once was he simply depicted as "Slender," the fact that everyone just knows about it now because of the game makes me..  feel like a butthurt fanboy.  Really, I don't think I should mind it, but people not knowing the history seems a bit lame in my opinion.
