Author Topic: Chillun! Should I buy a 3DS? :O  (Read 1795 times)

Howdy, the reason I'm asking this here is because this is the most active part of the forums. I don't want to discuss it, I just want you guys to tell me whether or not it's a worthwhile purchase. And I also have a few games I want you to answer questions about if you happen to have them.

First off, 3DS or 3DS XL. Do any of you have the XL? Do the games look stretched or anything?

Luigis Mansion;
Is it any good? :o

LoZelda OoTime;
Is anything updated? Are the graphics changed? Is the 3D feature nice?

Super Mario 3D Land;
Any good?

I guess that's it.

Also;

Does it have Skype? Can I browse the interwebs? Can you make a Mii on it? Like with the Mii channel on the Wii? I always thought those were fun to forget around with.

Cheers guys <3

It has Miis, Mii channel, etc. No Skype, as far as I can tell. I don't like SM3DL too much, but I'm in the minority there. Zelda's definitely worth a buy. Never played Luigi's Mansion. I don't have an XL, just a regular 3DS, but it's only like 30 bucks more, right? Go for it.

Normal or XL:
I don't have the XL, but if you're short on money, I'd recommend the regular 3DS. Otherwise, the 3DS XL.

Games:
The only game on your list of games that I have an experience of is Super Mario 3D Land, and yes, it is quite fun.

Misc:
It doesn't have Skype, but it does have the internet. A bit slow, however. Kinda like the Wii.
And yes, you can make Miis.

I only have the smaller 3DS, and not willing to waste another load on the bigger one, but bigger is better, right? That is, if there's not much difference in the price.

It's not even out yet, is it?

They added updates such as a hint system, and the master quest which you unlock by completing the game, which mirrors it and increases the difficulty. The 3D's nice too, along with updated graphics. The only downside is that they made Navi more annoying, by suggesting taking a break every once in a while.

Super Mario 3D Land;
Any good?

It's not the best 3D Mario game, but it's quite good. It's basically a 2D Mario game, but...3D.

Does it have Skype?

Not that I know of, no.

Can I browse the interwebs?

Yes, but there are a few downsides, such as not being able to watch YouTube videos, and images that are too high in quality will fail to be displayed.

Yup. They even added more hairstyles, eyes, etc.

I have New Super Mario Bros 2., Mario Kart 7, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and I like it, except that it wasn't really worth getting the zelda game. Nothing has changed, except for the 3d.

The 3D is really interesting. The only thing I don't like about it, are the ABXY buttons. Your fingers will start hurting if you play for more than 10 minutes straight.

I liked MK7 and SSF43D.

I have been hearing mixed reviews about this one, some saying it's noticeable while others saying it's not, unfortunately I'm someone who would have to get his hands on one first to be able to say if the stretched pixels are a bother. Other then that, I've heard the XL is better than the original. Better 3D, longer battery life, such and such. Apparently it doesn't come with a charging cradle like the original, however I don't think it's a necessity anyway, I've never used it and don't think it has any advantages (you can still buy an XL version on Nintendo's website too). The system still comes with a normal charger though (only in North America apparently).

The possibility of trading my 3DS for an XL lingers, but that pixel stretch is the one thing preventing me from doing so. Nintendo needs to send out some demo units for the XL.

XL version, buy lozoot, buy weegee's menshen, buy suber madio triidii lant. They are all awesome games.

SM3DL is the stuff.

Really.

It is the stuff.

It is, le stuff.

3DS XL because it has a bigger screen overall.

XL is the bigger one obviously.

Edit:
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3DS vs N64
3DS at the top
N64 at the bottom

4 1-ups? Whoever was playing sucked ass.

3DS XL because it has a bigger screen overall.
does that mean DS games will be in an even lower resolution and even smaller?

you should probably buy one in the future
there's not a lot of good games out yet and you will find yourself playing your 3DS litterally once a month
