Author Topic: How should I go about building this city?  (Read 773 times)

As of now I'm in my first stage of building. I'm just making a small "mini city" version of it to get the basic idea out there, then I will recreate it at a larger and more detailed scale. But right now, I'm kind of stumped.

I have a park and a small square of buildings set up. Just some shops, miscellaneous buildings and an apartment. Well since I have that little are down, I want to have a larger area - which will be the main part of the build with some skyscrapers and other city buildings. Problem is I don't know where I should put it.

See that road that sicks out and ends abruptly? Look at it this way: |
I'm thinking of placing a horizontal "endless" road going off it to divide the area I have and the main city like so:

     City
       |
-------------
       |
 Built area

But I'm kind of unsure about it so I want to hear your opinions on what you think I should do.

Create more roads and lots.

Then, start by making corporate buidlings and move down.

I know what I am going to build, I just don't know where to place it. Read the OP again.

Stupid me. I'm getting tired.

For me, I would put the skyscraper in the middle of that space enclosed space.

Could I help?

You should make a residential area, and then some sort of Business Avenue.

Then a Capital like area in the city that has the Police Station, the Mayor Hall.

[Layout kinda like my township]

Add a new square area called the "ghetto" and make all the buildings stuffty and broken
