Anti-Americanism, in my mind, is because of:
> Your overly-vocal and annoying government-- watching US elections is like watching monkeys fight for a banana
> Your country being so war-mongering and unhelpful, planting bases in other countries and inflicting your agenda on everyone else and trying to control the Internet
> America being like a "micro-world" where there are a concerning amount of US citizens who seem to know nothing about other countries
> America being very arrogant on television and the Internet
> Stupid gun laws, seeing US kids on this forum talk about what guns they've used and what guns their parents own makes me lose the will to live sometimes
The global perception of America is meh. Some Americans seem to think they live in the best country in the world and everyone loves the place, but it isn't true. The US globally doesn't have the strongest currency, the best education systems, and its healthcare is really poor in some places even like in New York.
America constantly claims to be a place of "freedom" often implying other places in the world aren't as free or prosperous, when actually the US is becoming less tolerant of free speech and freedoms as time goes on. Its hypocritical and its annoying. As for being prosperous and living the dream, university students can't even pay their debt off or get jobs these days. So much for that.
America is also really intertwined with an obnoxious patriotism that is weaved in with religion which is a combination that doesn't go down well. Its fine to love your country, and its okay to be religious, but to mix it together and get really over-the-top about it, shoving it in people's faces, will never get you the popular vote.
America may be a large, exciting, and amazing place full of wonderful and interesting people and sights. It is responsible for a lot of great things in the world. It is also far nicer than a lot of places in the world. But mostly due to the US government it is constantly appearing less desirable.
Unfortunately if you live in a country where there are a fair share of knobs and a stupid government, you get bunched in to whatever stereotypes go your way.
I don't particularly like the US anymore because I don't think it actually that nice of a place to be and I don't think the country is contributing to the world in a good way at the moment. You can't even get in the country without having to have a full body xray because of terrorism hysteria.
But its not fair to take it out on all Americans, especially when many would probably agree their government sucks.
