Weird characters instead of japanese

how do i fix this

its been bothering me for days, i would rather see unreadable language instead of unreadable question marks

do i need to download something? if so, i have windows vista 64 bit

Change your region settings and stuff to Japanese.

Break your computer and get a new one. (Worked for me)

That happens when a program doesn't support unicode. It defaults to the system language, which in your case is English, so the letters display incorrectly. The only way to fix it is to change your system locale to Japan.

Control Panel>Clock, Language, and Region>Region and Language>Administrative>Change system locale

Set it to Japan, then restart your computer. The text will display correctly.
