Author Topic: Why are women considered less than men?  (Read 2987 times)

I need to know why.

I cannot seem to understand why men feel like women are weaker and less powerful. Granted, they can't do EVERYTHING men do, but they sure do a helluva alot. I am saddened by how women are increasingly harassed, publicly beaten down, loveualized, enslaved. It just needs to stop. It's ridiculous how we consider women no more than "possessions" in some countries.

Especially nowadays, young women faces more persecution and challenges than men probably ever will. I hope this changes eventually, because we are all equal; no one person is better than the next. I believe we should do our best to encourage them and uphold them, rather than mocking them and insulting their gender because, in the end, it's just another human being.

Also regarding the "getting a GF" thing with the guys:

I believe that, for me, I am too young to worry about "those" relationships. I spend my youth having fun and working toward a greater goal for myself when I become an adult. I don't worry about when I'm getting a GF. I am going to wait for the right woman to come along, not go searching for one.

This attitude actually helps me remain really calm near women my age. Instead of panicing and going, "Do I look good?" or "Is she looking at me?", I remain cool and collected because, I know that it's not my time yet. They can look all they want, I don't care.

I feel really sorry for women in this day and age. They are becoming increaslingly harrassed, loveualized, beaten down publicly... It's just wrong.

Sorry for the long paragraph, but I felt as if I had to say this. Threads like these are why women are the way they are today. I hope that condition changes.

OP does not know what statistics are.

What nice insights you have

Wrong. I do.
"An estimated 1.3 million women are victims of physical assault by an intimate partner each year."

1.3 Million out of about 4 billion.

I'd say that's a minor risk.

Because we have snakees and they don't, thus we are better at everything deal with it.

In prehistoric times, men were stronger, and gathered and hunted. When ancient people started settling, men again, went out to hunt. Women stayed home and cared for the homes and children.

Patriarchal status is common among a lot of animals due to the increased strength compared to females.

I guess it's been that way with humans for a long time. This is just what I know/think though.

It shouldn't exist at all. There are still 1.3 Million women getting beaten.

Bogus.

Women are a lot better off than they used to be, but it's still not a good situation. Although Jubel's post makes me feel like pointing out that men are supposed to be emotionless (except for anger).

It's the way things are really.  I'm not saying it justifies beating your wife or girlfriend or treating them like stuff but all throughout history men have just been the "stronger" love.
