I'd say both sides are there, but just because there are some mens rights issues doesn't mean women don't have their share of problems (like the increasing attempts at destroying abortion by the republican party, along with the catholic church and birth control)
Now as much as I hate the church and what not, in first world countries their effect is quickly diminishing to nothing. Whatever "increasing attempts" you're noticing are nothing more than a last ditch effort at the relization of this.

Actually it's the other way around.
Our government is becoming increasingly feminist, and propigating the myth that men are more abusive.
Read some stats, watch some actual relationships without bias, and see that women don't have it worse at all.
Actually read statistics and pay close attention to people you know irl, without a bias you should see there's very little problem for women, and if anything feminists have started to get governments and people to oppress men as overcompensation for past loveism. (in first world countries)
