Author Topic: Going to get a new computer soon. Is this good?  (Read 1347 times)

I got my Dell with an i7 and AMD Radeon HD 6670, 8GB Ram for $2000.
that ... seems.. idk. expensive? i might think i just got ripped off
Somewhat, Yet somewhat not, Newegg just has great deals, that is all.

build a pc.

if you have to take it to a professional and have him build it for you for a fee.

although if you DO take it to a professional, tell him not to install windows and do that yourself and save some $$$.
installing windows and drivers is very easy.

so i recommend you build a PC instead of buying a pre built, you'll get more bang for your buck.

if you do want to build a PC instead, tell me budget and if you're doing technician or not.

and if you are going technician, don't do best buy or staples and go to a local technician that doesn't make false claims and tell me if the technician is going into your budget or not.

So with the computer in the 3rd post, do you think it could run shaders on high or max?

max x1000
I have the same class of videocard and it can run max at 100 fps with an i5 3570k. You should have no problem running it.

max, but:

I don't really want to build my own PC. This PC has everything I'm looking for, and money is not a problem here, because my parents bought my brother a $3000 Saxophone, I think they could manage this.

just bringing this out.

with a little bit more hassle you get quite a bit better of a computer with that GPU being the helper and a guarantee that you'll be able to max out shaders with perfect FPS in demanding environments.

so its up to you if you want to go through somewhat of a hassle to get a bit better and probably more upgradable computer or do the pre built, not really far off though.

if you get this, you would be able to play more new games without having to upgrade.

Yeah it will probably last longer than 2 years. The laptop I am on currently has lasted 3 years, and it has a duel core prosessor and 4GB of RAM.
oh, thought you meant last 8 years while being on par. that's just outrageous lol. it could last 8 years but you probably won't use it for that long
