lego site?
STOP loving SAYING THIS

can you people not even read the section you're in?

Off-Topic

i'll make that bigger in case you still can't see it

off-loving-topic

here, it's not a lego/block building/whatever the forget forum anymore. if it were, we wouldn't have almost 3000 pages of threads that are barely even remotely related to this.

it really pisses me off when someone says this, it's worse than throwing around autism as an insult using it as a replacement for stupidity.

now, on the actual subject, I don't think research should be allowed full-fledged, however I think it should be allowed how facepunch does it - only in places where it's called for. e.g. hot girls. posting obese bondage bestiality furry research in a thread about toasters should be bannable.

Id like to point out that not a single person who posted in this topic in support of research is 18+

does it say blockland forums in the left hand corner? yep. point is is that kids browse this forum.

the fact that kids browse this forum is something that I agree with. however it's not valid to say that "this is a lego forum" in off topic, which is what I stressed in my post.

with the point about kids being here, that's why I said "only where it's called for", in that research will stay only where it's wanted/needed. in other cases where it's not where it's supposed to be, that wouldn't occur any more or less than it does now. kid's being curious? even when he finds research in the thread, it'll still be just as bad as the content being posted now, as it's close enough to being research that their parents would ban them from the site anyway.

hmm. lets see how many people on this forum are 18+? Like 5

It's a board on a forum for a game that kids would enjoy. That should be reason enough not to allow research.

Badspot is an E-lawyer, That means that he knows the legal trouble he would get into if he did this.
just think: Mom after Mom sending him loads of documents and lawsuits on the issue.

My point is, Blockland is getting bigger. so I don't think we would want Blockland to be called "That game filled with perverts"

This is just my opinion on the matter.

that doesn't really matter since most of us here look at research anyway. this isn't even relevant to what I said though.

It's a board on a forum for a game that kids would enjoy. That should be reason enough not to allow research.
again, what we're posting now isn't that much better.

legal issues would be a valid reason to disallow research, otherwise I don't see why not.

the way you say this makes it seem as if you believe research would be posted literally in every thread possible, when this wouldn't/shouldn't be the case.

This question seems rhetorical.

It's a board on a forum for a game that kids would enjoy. That should be reason enough not to allow research.
Oh no. the kiddies might find research on the site because they totally cant go look at plenty more with a simple 3 clicks!
This reason not to allow it is invalid. So is the lego forum idea because this is loving off-topic and has nothing to do with Lego or building.

The research should only be allowed in topics for it like facepunch does (As said before) and those topics should be locked unless the profile page says 18+ and the email which the key is registered on has you list the player as 18+ as well. of course its not like it matters because kids will totally spend an extra $20 dollars to see research. Yeah. totally.

in other words theres no reason to not allow research because anyone can simply open a new tab and search the research subject. If the parents get mad then it's their fault for not supervising their child's internet usage.

Because we don't want this becoming 4-Chan, that's why..

This isn't happening. Ever.
