I was planning on doing the same thing, but private JROTC academy got a little expensive. I might pick up ROTC when I get out of high school but my parents aren't too fond of it as of now.

He is an Officer, he'll be safely inside an armored vehicle telling his sargeants to lead their fireteams into combat. Also remember grunts hate three people on the battlefield: intel, recon, and officers.

I am an aviator.  Infantry and Armor dudes chill in MRAPs, not me.  I will be mostly dropping infantry squads on air assaults and flying MEDEVAC.  My sergeants do maintenance on aircraft.  Grunts don't really hate officers either since they are reliant on us for leadership and direction.  Only the Soldiers who don't understand the nature of our responsibilities hate officers because me make them do stuff.
