Our school is closed today for loving FOG

I wake up around 7:40 this morning, as my mom tells me today has a two hour delay due to fog.
She soon leaves for work.
I get on my computer to squeeze in some Fallout 3 before school, and after about half an hour playing it, the phone rings. It's from the school.
I pick it up, and it's the secretary. She says "Hey, school is closed due to fog." I say "Alright, thanks." without really thinking about it, and hung up. It took me a while to process... I think the visibility outside is like, 0.2 miles.

Only problem is, this is gonna bite us back towards make-up days/the end of school.

I've never closed for fog.
Then again I live in the mountains where there is always fog.

Actually its kind of stupid how my highschool worked as far as closings and delays went. The district office was down in town which is a lot lower as far as altitude is concerned and therefore weather conditions are less bad there. The district is split into two schools, north and south, and it often seems like school should have been canceled for the north school while it was fine near the south school.

I've actually crashed into a dirt mound by losing control while trying to turn on ice driving to school. THere were also many days when the fog was so thick I couldn't see my school until I was within like 50 feet of it.

I have never had a school close for anything, not even hurricanes.
The only chance of a school closing here is if it gets too hot (I think the legal limit is something like 52 degrees Celsius before they have to shut schools down) which has come close but doesn't really occur in the cities.

Yet in Finland the schools don't close up until there is over a half meter of snow on the ground. *sigh*.
