Guys' using appeal to tradition/popularity fallacy 20 seconds into the video.

"Yes we can see stars and planets far away, but their history depends on your world view"

what the forget kind of scientist is she?

At least they had the courtesy to disable ratings and comments...

The 'not actually a scientist, and a university for idiots gave me my PhD' type

I like how the first guy is the video, when he says creationism isn't only American, lists lesser developed countries, and says "probably" (read: "I don't know this for sure") when referring to a few more developed countries.
When he said Canada, I facepalmed. I have never met, nor heard anyone on t.v. (in Canada) claim to be a creationist.

There's just so much wrong with what they said, oh God.
inb4thereisnogod.  It's an expression, calm your tits.

Which is one of the many reasons I want to move to Canada when I get older.

also no nigs there

There is no evolution in the Mooslim world!

Can she stop blinking for a moment when she's talking?

Also, each time I go over it, I hear something even stupider.

Being a good scientist and a mum I want my daughter to be educated about evolution so that she can see the inherant problems with it. For example, the complete lack of a genetic mechanism that allows organisms to gain genetic information to go from simple to complex over time.
Then teach her properly about Evolution
     Better yet, don't teach her yourself. You're a christian "scientist" who is part of the Creation Museum. Which means you are entirely unqualified to teach anyone about Evolution. Your entire character is biased against it. How can she learn something properly and fairly, and be allowed to earn her own opinions, if you won't let her learn from a reliable source.
There is a reason people send children to schools to learn. It's because most people are stuff at teaching children and they don't know enough to give them a full education in everything. The reason I go to a Biology teacher to learn Biology and not my Dad, is because my Dad knows forget all about Biology.

So, the  act of reproduction? The last time I checked, the act of reproduction is the mechanism that allows organisms to gain genetic information.

Now, I might not be a "Doctor", but I have taken GCSE Biology and AS Level Biology. On the scale of any one who has gone to University, this is pretty comparing the knowledge of being able to put together a lego plane with being able to put together a Jumbo Jet.

But what I do know is that when two people meet up, and the decide they want a little baby version of themselves, it's not gonna happen.
Because when they do happen to get down and dirty with each other, well, they end up donating 1 half of a full set of chromosomes each towards a new baby. So, that's 1 half of the ingredients for the baby.
And those ingredients happen to be entirely different from each other.
And they happen to originate from your own parents, with half of it being your dads and half being your mothers.
And, just before your little sperm or egg cell is made, the chromosomes you have, from your parents, well they do this fantastic thing called crossing over, where they actually randomise what half of your DNA is going to go into the sperm or egg.

So, not only do I get a completely random selection of half of my DNA being made, it then gets put together with a completely random selection of half of her DNA.
So that goes and makes a baby. And it comes out the other end, and it looks like a sort of cross between the two of us. But he likely has some random modification in there that neither of us have.

Because as it happens, atleast one of us had the genetic information for that peculiarity. But within us, it was suppressed by another version of it's peculiarity. But due to randomness within the child, it's now shown up.
So, look at that, our child happens to have new genetic information. A stuff load of info I didn't have and my wife didn't have, and it comes out with overall abilities/characteristics that neither of us had.

Oh, but I suppose you're saying that it needs entirely new genetic information that wasn't just hiding in my chromosomes.

Well, that's where mutation happens.
I have this thing called DNA. It's made of lots and lots of repeating patterns of identical chemicals. And every 3 sets of these chemicals makes a codon. And each of these codons, depending on the pattern of chemicals in it, can code for an amino acid.
And each of these amino acids forms part of a protein chain. And if I were to change the amino acid, then the protein changes too. Because the different amino acid means that the protein connects to itself in a new and unusual way, which means it reacts in a different way, which makes it entirely different, which on the large scale of a whole new organism, means that I have a whole new formation in me.

Now, it might mean that this mutation is something I can see. It might be something I can't. It might make a difference in my life. For example, it might make me immune to something. Or it might have no affect what so ever.

But either way, the mutation gives me brand new genetic information.

So, you want a change from simple to complex overtime, using the above mechanism? Well, let's just imagine that all of the above is true. Which it is.

And let's say, I have a really basic organism. In total, it's 1 cell big, has the ability to consume chemicals and produce proteins and it has a little nucleus in it.
And in that nucles is some DNA. And that DNA is wrapped up in little chromosomes.
And these long strands of DNA are made up of repeating patterns of chemicals. I have 4 chemicals in total, A, C, T and G.
And A sticks to T, and C sticks to G.
And these things lay next to each other.

If I roll it all out nice and straight, it looks like a ladder.

A = T
C = G
T = A
G = C
T = A
G = C
A = T
T = A
C = G

Now, if I were reading this DNA, I'd read it like this, down the left hand sign, and bunching together each three of the chemicals.
So, currently, it looks like this: [ACT][GTG][ATC]
And each of those codes for 1 amino acids. So, currently, I have 3 amino acids. And those amino acids make 1 protein which does 1 job.

But, mutations can occur. And in a mutation, which happens naturally, and just by chance, that a chemical happens to get moved about, three things can happen to our little chemical pairs.
One can get removed, one can get replaced, or one can get added.
Let's stick with added.

A = T
T = A
C = G
T = A
G = C
T = A
A = T
G = C
A = T
T = A
C = G
C = G

So, now I read it like this: [ATC][TGT][AGA][TCC]
Not only do I now have 4 new amino acids, but I now no longer have any of the previous amino acids.
So, all by random chance, I've got an entirely new set of amino acids, which makes a brand new protein, which does more than the last one and is more complex.
And all by natural chance.

And this caused every mutation throughout time. Perhaps it was losing an amino acid, or splitting up the DNA into different chunks (Since in reality there are also codons which tell you when to stop reading the amino acids for 1 protein and when to start making another one), or it was replacing one amino acid with another or gaining a new one.

It is so random and so unlikely that it takes loving ages for it to happen.
And because it takes loving ages for it to happen, and because it takes a forget-ton of mutations to individual codons to make a difference (And there are billions of codons in the human genetic sequence), it's a really slow process of making complex life.
Hence the reason scientists find our planet to be so old, for one reason. If it weren't, life as complex as us wouldn't have come into existence. If the planet were really 6000 years old or what have you, there wouldn't even be enough time for life to even start.

Another rant and more overly simplified science that is enough to explain how stupid and ignorant these people are.

I honestly can't believe that some "scientists" can expect evolution to happen instantaneously in front of their eyes.
You forgeters don't see miracles happen yet you believe in them, even though they happened so long ago and you never saw it, just because it is written in a book.

Even though I only write massive posts which no one really cares about so that I can keep myself occupied and entertained, I've actually tired myself out now. I still haven't even gotten to the end of the video either. Religion/Science topics are good for that.

Damn Dooble, just when I thought you couldn't get cooler.

dooble's one cool cat~

get it, because gcat

I hate people who use the argument "but you can't disprove god either." it's like saying "well there's no proof or traces, but you can't say he doesn't exist because there is no proof or traces!" It goes backwards upon itself and says there's no proof.
assuming that a claim is true (or false) because it has not been proven false (true) or cannot be proven false (true)

That she is teaching her daughter about Evolution, but doesn't know anything about it, and seems to claim that to be the problem with Evolution.
