Author Topic: Is this a good computer to buy for $700?  (Read 709 times)

Specs:
Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit
Intel i5 Processor
ATI Radeon HD 6770
1TB HDD

I'm not sure what everything else was, but my dad got a picture of the computer so I'll see if he can message me the picture. Would this be a good buy for $700?

it's decent but the CPU is unbalanced to the GPU

What else does the computer have that makes it worth $700

Well, I don't really need the best computer at the moment, I'm just trying to replace the one I have at my Mom's store. This old one is running Windows XP, has ATI Radeon XPress 200 Graphics, and it's dust old. The current one at home has an i3 processor, a Radeon HD 6570, and Windows 7 64-Bit.

actually mold it depends on what you do
if he does a lot of video game playing and recording, he'll need a pretty big hard drive

A 6770 isn't bad, but since the processor is an i5, the whole computer is a little overpriced, we don't know how much RAM it has either, so maybe that has some form of impact (though barely any because of DDR3 prices.)

Hey, I'll have you know that my HD 6770 runs BF3 on high settings at 40-50fps stable, it is by no means bad, you don't know what you're talking about at all

pretty sure he's defining "bad" as "anything that isn't new"

Same here, I can run Blockland with shaders on maximum in a big build with 30-40fps on an HD 6570.
