Why do people make such a big deal out of how many times they have revolved around the sun?

if they did, birthdays would take place an average of nine months before the day they were born
and also if they did, they wouldn't be called

actually, it'd be a lot more than nine months before their birth, because the matter they're made of has been around a lot longer than that
