Author Topic: Why are people such richards to freshmans?  (Read 7281 times)

freshmen are gay

you just haven't realized it because you are one

There are some freshman who are ok, they don't act like they run the place and don't start stuff. then there are the idiots who do, and that is why we are mean. People are mean to freshmen because if you aren't a lot of them are just going to act like asshats and pretend they can just do whatever they want.

One of the guys in my orchestra class always said "shut up freshman" whenever a freshman said something stupid
doing that in general is dumb and irrelevant
for example, and for the example, assume they weren't discussing anything dealing with what they called them:
"shut up woman"
"get out of the way, monday" (to someone who is actually black)
"quit it, handicap" (to someone who is actually mentally disabled)
"leave me alone furcigarette"
"what are you doing, friend" (to someone who is actually gay)

do any of these seem at all okay to anyone? I'd hope not

"leave me alone furcigarette"
"what are you doing, friend" (to someone who is actually gay)

These are acceptable.

but what if it's said to a man?

When I was in high school I didn't even know these terms such as "freshman" and such, because literally no one gave a stuff about that kind of stuff. That does not mean everyone was all happy cheery with each other. Just that bullying, fights, and abuse was usually caused by something more personal rather than "you're younger/older than me."

But a lot of people had personal problems.

but what if it's said to a man?
It's said to men more often than you'd think. I say it to my male friends sometimes.

I am in a high school where there are about 300-350 guys per grade, 9-12.  Generally, the lower classmen are always just looked down on for being new to the jungle and likely unaware of the reality awaiting them in the coming months and years.  It's just the way things are, it's better to learn humility and accept it and just not have a reason to be hated than try to "fight it" and get ridiculed en masse.

As a freshman and sophomore I was in probably 1-2 classes with guys above me, they tended to treat me like a normal person lol, probably on account of just not having a reason to be hated.  As a junior though I don't see any serious "harassment", just typical run of the mill teasing.

These are acceptable.
I'm sorry you feel that way
but what if it's said to a man?
then how that man reacts is up to him, and I'm not going to get involved or even bothered by it

because freshman are friends
and then theres like those 3 cool freshman and then that 1 fat kid that has a cool brother so hes cool too

then how that man reacts is up to him, and I'm not going to get involved or even bothered by it
what if he explodes?

what if he explodes?
then I suppose I'll send my condolences to his family but otherwise be unaffected

do you do that with sophomores or juniors or seniors?
No, because they've been around longer and I have their names glued in my mind.
It's usually only for the first few weeks though :P
Well except for that one sophomore who bugs me a lot, I still call her freshman.

what if he explodes?
Kaboom? Or "GARY YOU WILL EAT YOUR DESERT AND YOU WILL LIKE IT!"?

that's kinda stupid
actually no its not because everybody does it and freshman aren't entitled to a real name unless they're cool

I've never heard anyone do it
