Author Topic: Making a player hold a weapon  (Read 1117 times)

I opened some weapon add-ons and found that they have .png images with colors in them. The colors go along with the model. I was wondering what you to to the model so that it uses the .png colors. --- *Solved*.

EDIT: Also, how do you make it so that the player is holding the weapon? I don't know how to do that. My first weapon does not appear in the player's hand while they are using it.

are you setting a mountpoint joint or bone in the weapon handle?

No. I have no idea how to make one. So how do I do it?
I have Autodesk 3ds Max 2012 and Milkshape at my disposal. Does anybody know how to do it in any of those two programs?

In Milkshape, click the joint tool, position it wherever you want the player to hold it at, and then rename the joint "mountPoint". Export to .dts and you're done.
