Main Characters are OP
Let them get shot more
then people will complain

then people will complain
But you aren't suppose to get attached to the characters because they could die at any moment.

But you aren't suppose to get attached to the characters because they could die at any moment.
We aren't supposed to get close to the characters but they can't just die at any moment.

And the fact that the story is still developing so we don't know which crew characters are extra important/special

usually characters die or lose plot armor when we do stupid stuff, like how david died and ulris almost died kinda because we decided to shoot at armored eldritch dudes

usually characters die or lose plot armor when we do stupid stuff, like how david died and ulris almost died kinda because we decided to shoot at armored eldritch dudes
this, because none of you guys listened to common sense

and although we get some plot armor and biased combat rolls, if we still get really unlucky I don't think tingalz would be too sympathetic.

double post because unrelated to previous post. I forgot to outline Ru'grth spacecraft and provide sprites so I'll do so now.

(in order, from left to right)

Since Ru'grth spacecraft development began late relative to other alien species, their ships are consequently smaller and lighter than other races. However, they require much less crew to operate, and are relatively cheap to produce. They are generally armed with a mixture of kinetic and energy weapons, with a preference towards energy-based ones.

Ru'grth frigates make up the backbone of the fleet, using numbers to overwhelm enemies. Generally patrolling in squads of 4 at a time, fleets of 9 and above have been known to engage enemy groups numbering around 2-3 ships. A favorite tactic of theirs is to draw off the enemy once a ship is damaged, and then warping in the rest of the ships from behind to surround and destroy them. Although dangerous in numbers, individually these ships are relatively easy to destroy, with only 8HP, 1 armor slot, and 1 shield slot. They carry up to 4 guns.

Ru'grth carriers, on the other hand, are significantly stronger. Equipped with up to 7 weapons, they carry 2 armor slots, 26HP, and 1 shield max. Accompanied with frigates (2-4), these are dangerous enemies, and each alone can take up to two ships at one time.

Ru'grth destroyers are a rare sight to behold. Although not as strong as their Solar Empire or Iconian counterparts, they are still dangerous vessels to confront with, especially when they're accompanied by 4-6 frigates (which they almost always are). Unlike other Ru'grth ships who have variable loadouts, they are consistently equipped with 3 Fusion Beams, 2 Arc Casters, and 2 Autocannons. They generally have 4 armor slots, but only 1 shield slots, and have around 33HP.

Tingalz if the ships are underpowered please adjust the values so they aren't. I haven't been able to check up on the specs you normally give to destroyers simply because there has been no combat situation involving them getting damaged. responded

Also, feel free to adjust the sprites as you wish.

race looks nice, although the HP levels are really high. 40 was supposed to be really good even in the older system where everything had more HP.

ok, on it

expect a ridiculous looking race of people who look like mutated tall humans

Name: Vyroxeres

Vyroxeres are split into three subraces:
The Rozvians (light armor), intelligent yet tough, wear their padding as everyday clothes.
The Barkhans (med armor), somewhat less intelligent and tough, wear thick see-through cloth over powered armor.
The Thrax (heavy armor), middle ground of intelligence and the most tough out of the three, wear thick shred-power armor, generally walking fridges.

Backstory: The Vyroxeres were evolved on a planet named Diaxina-97 in the Iota-14 system. They originally were like land sharks, until a cross-breed with gorillas turned them into humanoid creatures. The modern Vyroxeres have very varied views: the Rozvians think of the Barkhans as bandits and the Thrax as total douches, the Barkhans see the Rozvians as cynical peasants and the Thrax as overglorified cop players, and the Thrax view the Rozvians as middle class twits and the Barkhans as lowly scum. The Vyroxeres originally had about 7 subraces, but a particular Eldritch manipulated their minds and turned them into their slaves. The 3 were picked as favorites and the rest were genocided. Eventually the Rozvians found out that blunt force trauma to the (solid, rock-like) hair dulls the mind control and makes them immune to it, and over a year the Eldritch was overthrown and killed. They now really hate all Eldritch, and will stop at nothing to kill them with severe prejudice and loathing.

All three use the same weaponry, from left to right, top to bottom:
1. Brunium Buster - Conjures orbs of painful stuff and projects them at the enemy at moderate speed.
2. Brunium Cutter - Fires a very thin 4500C beam of burning forcepower. Effective for cutting enemies' limbs off and opening cans of food.
3. Brulofos - Spreads a choking cloud of organ disruption and sore throats.
4. B-Wall - A large, powered shield with the ability to slow down projectles/swords a bit before they hit.
5. Brutal Diaxe - A powered axe with a cutlass hilt and a sword blade for a stick.

The 3 races also fly different spaceships:
The Rozvian ships are generally moderately armed, extremely speedy and extremely accurate, but lack manueverability and armor. Generally come in numbers.
The Barkhan ships are very heavily armed with all sorts of mad haberdashery, are VERY manueverable and moderately speedy, but lack in armor and accuracy. You may want to keep your distance.
The Thrax ships are, like the Thrax themselves, VERY heavily armored, VERY heavily armed, moderately accurate, lack in speed and manueverability. Like the caption says, run.

it's 22:50 jesus christ

squishy: heal jenn
ulris: hit him with the overhead
everyone else kill that last bitch god damn

This happens. Area cleared.

[COMM]: You're almost there, Mace. Just about 40 meters and you're in the main chamber.
: Good to know. We're-

You are cut off by a loud booming noise as the entire temple shakes.

: Uhh... what was that?
[COMM]: I forgot to mention, the iconians are bombarding the temple. Have fun with that.
: You're an starfish.
[COMM]: Tyrell out.

: It seems the iconians are trying to destroy whatever's in here.
: Looks like they're going to destroy all of us as well.
: My point is that something very important has to be here.
: Yeah, we're still going to die if we stay here.
: Why are snipers so pessimistic? How about we get to the bottom of all this instead of running?
: I'm with you on that. We should get a move on, Captain.

What's going on in space?

ok

i was originally thinking
frigate: 8HP, 1 armor and 1 shield, 4 weapons
carrier: 26HP, 2 armor and 1 shield, 7 weapons
destroyer: 33HP, 4 armor and 1 shield, 7 weapons (as listed in the original)
but then looked back on the iconian encounter at the mining asteroids and thought "well that's underpowered"

edited above post to have this stats instead.

cybertails try using more distinguishable colors; they look naked since everything blends together, especially in the medium armor class.

also your spaceship profiles/sprites look 3d or something. was that intentional?

throw one of the enemies' carcasses/swords inside the hole and see if anything happens, then proceed.

oh yeah heal big red if he needs it.

Should I explain the Koranians in detail?

Also advance exactly 39 meters ahead
« Last Edit: March 09, 2013, 08:53:06 PM by Aces »

Koranians or Coranians are residents of the planet of Cora. They are a thriving race who were able to defend themselves against Iconians. Being a prideful race like the Iconians, they share a natural hatred towards any Iconian enlisted in the army.

Koranians are most noted for their tough bodies. Able to survive most dangerous bodily damage, they are seen as ideal warriors and mercernaries. Koranians like Ulris can be seen wandering the galaxy enlisted in some sort of combat service. Their skin is a gray varying from dark to light, and black hair.

As for weaponry, Koranians see melee weaponry as a priority. Special forms of Koranian martial arts have allowed a Koranian swordsman to have the danger of your average gunman. The most renowned Koranian invention was the use of weapons that vibrate at extremely fast frequencies to pierce tougher armors. Although these weapons are mainly in the hand of veteran soldiers or guardsmen for the wealthy, they can be found about anywhere in the galaxy.

The usage of customized armor is commonplace in Cora. It is seen as almost a fashion statement among soldiers and flashy mercenaries.

Armors go from Regular to light to heavy. The color of these is not the default color the one on the top of the palettes are. or you can color them whatever you want. Oh and the gray areas on the helmets are places for opaque/trans visors to go or none at all.

I'll post the Zesonians Rh'Torans and Sichans later becuase tired.

Since the boss demands more races

Name: New Rub' al Khali Desert Dwellers

Long ago a human colony ship was charted for a recently discovered lush planet for colonization. However the ship's was navigation computer sabotaged and sent the vessal into a crash course toward a mostly barren planet. When the colonists woke up, they found themselves stranded on a hellish planet. The wandered the wastes in search of water. Eventually they broke up into small bands of tribes that would settle around the few water sources on the planet. They had few plants, mostly cactus like plants found on earth, some areas were lush marshes or grasslands. The barren wasteland is constantly hit by solar radiation which slowly mutated each generation of tribals. Their skin became dark and were born completely bald(exception for most women) and more cancer resistant. The human language is mostly lost among them, however english is making a come back with humans coming back into contact with them.

The Dwellers have no ships or any means to mass produce technology. Their ruined ship is burried in the sands of the desert. Trade is common activity everyday activity amongst the dwellers. Most of them are hunters, farmers, and gathers. Each tribe usually also has a craftsman, medicineman/woman, and chieften or a trader. Women tend the cactus crops which provide water and berries which have minor healing abilities. Cloth and Leather articles commonly worn by the dwellers. They hunt with crude guns and spears, those are lucky enough to trade with outsiders can trade for better weapons or water. It is no surpise to seem hunting parties with weapons from various aliens and some from human origion. Water and food is the main currency of the dwellers. They have no space technology or any knowledge of the outside world, whatever technology they do have was salvaged from the ship is passed on generation to generation. Sometimes they trade medicine and information of the landscape for technology from outside visitors. Usually aliens and sometimes human explorers. The Dweller's DNA for the most part is close to their human ancestors, assimilation back into the human race is possible.

Dwellers are not alone. The desert is plagued by raiders, bandits, and slavers which can either be Dweller or Alien. Slaves are usually given freedom after a certain amount of years of labor if they are enslaved by their own kind. However alien races also come to the planet to mine and enslave the dwellers, some of them have been exported off planet to other barrens planets. Wildlife and sentient beings consists of giant rock scorpions, large death worm, humoid insects, carnivorous beatles, and geckos.
damn this lore is long, shorten it if needed
