An iconian on average does not have as much muscle mass as a human, even though they are bigger. That isn't to say that an iconian can't be stronger than a human, though. Still, someone like mace will overpower most iconians.

They are at war, but you're not at the front lines. Most battles happen outside of the neutral zone(the place you operate in). Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not happening.

You still do that, but when the solar empire doesn't have a job for you, you look for other sources of income.

They were the first to fill in the power vacuum left by the shattering, so they are essentially the most powerful force in the galaxy. However, overexpansion has made their military spread thin, so the war between them and the solar empire is fairly stagnant.

Eldritchs are completely incomprehensible and dont even use "technology". For an idea of what they're like, see the lovecraft mythos.

any reports on how they devastated the galaxy? i get that to them, we're irrelevant, but they must have used something to wipe out systems and stuff.

Eldritch damage can range from cults forming on nearby systems to physical attack by the eldritch itself, and everything inbetween. The point is, no two eldritchs appear to be the same, meaning there's no telling what they might look like, do, or when they will show up.
