Tractor beam Sedric's ship into the Iconian ship and fly.
I like this plan.

Tractor beam Sedric's ship into the Iconian ship and fly.
the tractor beam is not quick enough to just fling things

and you want sedrids living or dead body as proof you killed him

Risk blowing up ship.
Tractor body in, if not, still GTFO. We're not dying for this prick.

Can we somehow grab his ship?

He hates Iconians with a burning passion.  Tractor him in and get out of there and he will be quite grateful, though I don't think he will appreciate you wrecking his ship.

Stop acting like this is a RP, it's not.

I'm on your team - Sedric is a valuable asset.  You can choose to utilize his skills or to stuff all over him.  I choose to make the best of it.

You're adding stuff in, the original description of the guy didn't mention that he hated Iconians.

Let's stuff on him then.
Shoot the ship, retrieve the body if possible. Aim away from the bridge.

Did you all TL;DR this?
That doesn't mean that he can't fight.  He'll do things in unorthodox ways, so victims are usually taken by surprise.  On numerous occasions, he has eluded capture.  Either way you put it, Sedric will be loyal if paid enough, in exchange for some of his personal goodies.  He has worked with people for years at a time before, given that they pay him.  If promised a chance to strike against the Iconians safely, he will take it at a much lower price.  The reason why is a family issue- one which he tells not a soul.*  If payment doesn't come, he will pack his things up and leave without warning; He has business elsewhere.  Though unorthodox in his methods of fighting, shipping and installation, he will play by-the-book when it comes to business, and will guarantee the safety of the customer in the process.  He will not attack anyone unless paid to do so, or if it's any Iconians that he could afford to pick a fight with.

Essentially, he is the cross between Han Solo and an Arab Trader.
And if you happen to stumble upon him, you will have an opportunity to get some quality black market weapons.  Rumors say that he possesses antimatter.

*(Hinthint:  The Querian betrayal and the Iconian massacre are related)

It would be more practical to just pull the ship in and keep it in your cargo hold.  If an Iconian ship is approaching, then you would have less time if you were to shoot it and then scour the remains for a body which you might not find.

ok SWAT im going to say now that you should stop being too attached to your character

>  Add character
>  Everyone has a raging desire to kill him

Just sayin'.

Basically why I don't give my characters backstories longer than a sentence.

I wrote a secondary description.
Which you added in after the first description, my point still stands, if anything you just made it stronger.
