Nothing notable happens during the refueling and everyone returns to the ship.

Meanwhile, after being filled in on the information gathered in the station, the three ship captains discuss over video the plans for the future.

Apparently there's also an artifact on the surface that's in danger. : My team reported the same things. I guess that's confirmed. : Right, so now what? Is this enough information? : Hell no. We need to go see them up close. : As in, land on the surface and fight them? : Well, we at least need to go to the system, don't we? : Right. That's the least we could do. : Besides, I'm sure the overseer wouldn't mind us taking that artifact for the Solar Empire...

I think you'd have to be more than careful.  If the Iconians know there's an artifact down there, and they see four unusual and mismatched vessels descend on the planet, they should have any exceuse to shoot you, as suspected treasure hunters.  Your superiors only want information gathered, and while I won't condone snatching that artifact, all I say is that we should find some exceuse for going down there, such as receiving a distress signal, months prior or something.  If we start a conflict with the Iconians, there will be two parties angry at us.

The fleet arrives at the unnamed planet. You are unable to tell if there is iconian fleet presence yet. The planet seems to be rocky, warm and dry, but not quite desert-like.

Scans do indeed show iconian fleet presence on the opposite side of the planet. They are hopefully too preoccupied to notice you.
