Author Topic: I'm done with Apple's macbooks.  (Read 2317 times)

1. I have my 15" macbook for a year at least. According to MacRumors forum and Apple's support, ~60C° is a normal temperature for an idling notebook. When trying to play a game, the macbook's temp goes to ~80C°. I know, it's ridiculous. The keyboard itself becomes uncomfortable to use, and the upper panel near the screen is hot to the touch. It can literally burn your hand if you touch it. YET IS STILL CONSIDERED A NORMAL TEMPERATURE BY APPLE. HOW CAN SOMETHING HOT TO THE TOUCH BE NORMAL IN A NOTEBOOK'S SURFACE?

2. The game I was trying to play was Team Fortress 2. The fps was stuttering so horrible at medium settings that the game was unplayable. And so was the sound.

3. I'm left-handed. The USB slots are in the left side of the macbook. If I plug in my mouse, I have to move the mouse away from the macbook a bit or else I'll collide with the USB stick and accidentally deconnect the mouse. I know, Apple has it's magic mouse that only use bluetooth, but it's literally impossible to play games using the magic mouse. I'd rather play a game with a 2-button mouse.

Has anyone else had any bad experiences with the Macbook? Post.

Idk man, I love my MacBooks. But I also have a desktop gaming computer for whenever I feel the need to nerd out. It's odd though that you're having these issues when the laptop isn't even that old. Although, using a MacBook as your main computer is kind of a bad idea. Puts a lot of stress on all of the hardware. But this could be said or almost any notebook.

I like how Apple releases a new macbook every 5 months and all of them cost twice as much as a better computer. A PC.

Aaaand this thread is now going to stuff.

Thanks Tonkka, couldn't you know, offer something helpful instead of criticizing his choice of computer?

You know, not everyone wants to have a 1,500 dollar gaming rig so they can play worms. They look nice, and they're good for people you can afford it. If you can't afford it, guess what, don't buy it, and don't bitch about it

The Macbook I bought for 3955$ now costs 6000$.

Don't use an apple computer for serious games. It's just stupid.

80C on most of HPs laptops for me on what you did.

...yeah HP is no better then macs on temp.

my 17.3" acer handles heat very well, 40-60C on most components when the gpu is being tested with demanding games.
<30C on idle and if you're on major power saver it stays that way no matter what you play.

and the charger tests (the idle and gaming) were on a loving bed.
why can't we have airflow like my acer?

on the USB side is why all laptops should have 1 usb port on each side.

why would anyone ever consider dumping these colossal amounts of money into macs, when they could be buying tons better computers for a quarter of the price.

jesus.
