As most of you know, today is the 11the anniversary of 9/11, the day the twin towers were hit. This topic is NOT intended for conspiracy theory discussion, how you hate America or the likes. The purpose is for people to come together, share their stories, maybe learn something. If nobody comments, no harm done. This is a little late, as I was busy all day, but I had planned to do this just to see what people had to say.
Personally my story is nothing exciting, I was in kindergarden in Tempe, Arizona. My parents came and pulled me out of school, I played with all my friends from the neighborhood. Me being the trouble maker I was, I disobeyed my parents when they said "Stay in the yard" and my friends and I walked around the neighborhood (about a 5 mile walk). They were worried, and over dinner told me what happened. I was too little to really understand, but now that I'm more of a mature young adult, the discussion of 9/11 and the lives that were lost do hold a lot more meaning to me...
"A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American Resolve. America was targeted for the attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining. Today, our nation saw evil -- the very worst of human nature -- and we responded with the best of America."
- George W. Bush, response to the 9/11 attacks
But anyways, if you have personal stories or you would just like to post the names of loved ones, anyone else willing to, including myself, will pray for them tonight.
